ARTWORK STATEMENT:

What does painting, a technology of transmission, pleasure, and ritual, as old as humans, have to do with survival or the future? This painting contends with contracts and currencies through text on the reverse side. It is a painting that notes the duality of a “good” and “bad” side when painting can be a multi-dimensional potential, existing mostly in our minds and memory. Habituated and evolved to compose reality through sensory capacity, painting opens a portal for other states, for reverie. I have more questions than answers in response to this painting but I hope this painting allows some pleasure of getting lost in seeing.
