ARTWORK STATEMENT:

Escondite para Nosotras is a quilted textile wall hanging, a shelter for two. It is a short story, a memory, and a prediction of two beings close to one another. One protects while the other stares back at us, the viewers, to question our role in their intimate moment. This work is made to remember closeness and touch and to invite people to take care of each other.
